New online pattern site; Klee silk arrived

I've had an obsession with cables for the past few days and I found the Celtic Braid Sock Pattern on Ravelry and just had to try it.

In trying to hunt down the pattern I learned from the designer (Lynda Gemmell) about a new-ish web site that sells downloadable patterns from top designers. It is called Patternfish, and they have a wonderful collection of designers, including Ilga Leja, Jane Thornley, Annie Modesitt, Megs Kandis, Nora Gaughan ... the list goes on and on.

So I was able to satisfy my overwhelming need to start those Celtic Braid socks right then (picture later).  I love instant gratification!

My Sanguine Gryphon order arrived with that stunning worsted weight silk called Klee.  It is so wonderful that I immediately went back and ordered the last skein in that colorway.

It coordinates perfectly with the Fiesta Rayon Boucle in Iris that I have been hoarding since the shop closed:

I have a vision of a wonderful confection of a jacket using these two yarns.  It's a kind of unusual design idea, and I am going to need to swatch to figure out if it will work.

It's been a lazy day.  A perfect Marilyn kind of day.  This is her "please don't make me get out of bed" look:

I've made the Celtic Braid socks, and loved the pattern! I did them in gold (you can check my Rav page) and they came out very lovely. I can't wait to watch you progress on yours!
