Getting that knitting mojo back

This "taking it easy after surgery" thing hasn't been nearly as easy as I thought.  The idea of lying/sitting around and knitting all day for a few weeks sounded like pure heaven, but then I discovered that I couldn't knit quite that much ...

However, I have conquered my little bout of "I'm sick of knitting."  The cure was to start several more projects so that I could just keep switching to different needles and yarns when I got bored.

I'm all excited again because I started one of the projects that has been in my "queue" for quite a while:  the Patricia Werner Conceptual Design Jacket using the yummy Mind's Eye yarn that I got at Hanks last winter.  This is a merino/tencel blend and it is wonderfully soft.  I love the way that the colors are coming together:

The pattern calls for worsted weight yarn, and this is fingering weight, but it is easy enough to make the adjustment.  I just figured out how many stitches I needed to make the blocks the correct size, and adjust the instructions for knitting the blocks accordingly.

I also knit a sock (yes, just one so far) from a wonderful new Schaefer yarn called "Heather".  This is the Gertrude Eberle colorway, but the picture doesn't really do justice to the colors, which include a rich burgundy and a deep purple:

The pattern is called "Spring Forward" and is available for free on knitty.com.

Heather is a merino/silk/nylon blend and a substantial fingering weight with a tight twist.  Unfortunately, it is not machine washable.  I probably should have used it for a lace scarf, but I was in a sock mood.

I also made some progress on the Alchemy Bamboo top, throwing in some leftover Fiesta La Luz to add some "pop" and texture:

With all of these wonderful projects to play with, I've gotten my knitting mojo back.  As soon as I get bored with one, I just move on to another one.  I am going to have a ton of UFO's (unfinished objects) around for a while, but I think that an unfinished object makes me feel less guilty than a pile of untouched luxury yarn in my stash.

Yes, I do feel guilty about my outrageous "yarn collection," despite all of my elaborate justifications for it.
