Faye won't go away; Yes, I can get tired of knitting

I've been fortunate because I have just been getting the trailing ends of tropical storm Faye as she zig-zags back and forth across Florida.  There hasn't been any damage here because no one was outside when the winds blew all of the dead palm fronds down by the patio:

Those things are sharp!

The pups are going stir crazy, running outside just long enough to do their duty and then scrambling back in out of the rain.

We did, however, get some rays of sunshine this afternoon and Jerry Lee and I went outside for a bit.  Marilyn, the little princess, elected to stay inside because it is still too wet for her dainty little paws.

Jerry Lee immediately tore off into the distant part of the yard where he hides his treasures and came back and dropped a soggy toy in front of me and begged for a game of fetch:

He doesn't normally look that sad and desperate.  Poor baby.  I'm feeling like a Bad Mom because I'm still recovering from my surgery and can't bend over to pick up toys or throw them far enough to give him a good run.  We are restricted to tamely tossing a tennis ball that he drops in my lap.

I didn't think that it was possible for me to get sick of knitting, but after a whole week of not being able to do anything else, I really am tired of it.  I have been switching between several different projects.  I started two different socks that I messed up and put aside in disgust.

I have also been working on my second Diamond Patch Sweater, this one in Prism Bon Bon in Terra Cotta, with Solid #112 as contrast trim:

I am almost finished with the body and am really pleased with how well it is turning out.  I am also surprised by how much I love the Terra Cotta colorway.  I would have thought that I would be sick of it by now, since I just finished the Cool Stuff sweater, but I just couldn't resist starting another project with it.

I've also started a simple, boxy summer top using some Alchemy Bamboo that I picked up on ebay, but it doesn't look like much yet:

It is knit from side to side, so the garter ridges in contrasting colors will be vertical.  Horizontal stripes are an absolute no-no for me.  This is a fine yarn and I am using US 4 needles.  This project won't be finished anytime soon...
