Jane Thornley Culture Fushion Ravelry Knitalong; Cool new yarn and pattern from Berroco

It seems like I have been doing a lot of "traditional" knitting lately and I kind of miss my ribbons and really funky yarns.  Fortunately, the Jane Thornley Ravelry group is having a knitalong for Jane's new Cultural Fushion wrap:

The idea is to choose a favorite place to use as the inspiration for the color/fiber/bead selection.  Mine is Venice, and these are the yarns I have chosen so far:

For those of you who are on Ravelry, here is a link to the Culture Fushion KAL.  (Eventually, Ravelry will be public and these links will work even if you aren't a member of Ravelry, but for now you need to sign up to get in.)

I recently found one more yarn that will work wonderfully with this, as well as some other projects that I have planned.  Berroco has just introduced a really unusual new yarn called Seduce:

It is a DK weight yarn that is like a fine soutache, only it is also thick and thin, which gives it a really intriguing texture.  Best of all, it is readily available on ebay at discount prices.

One of Berroco's new pattern books also has a great sweater pattern for this yarn:

Thanks to all of you who ask how the Autumn in Taos coat is coming, because it is really helping to motivate me to soldier on to finish it.  It is getting very warm down here in Florida, and I probably won't be able to wear it anymore this season, but I am determined to finish it before starting any really big new projects.  I knit two more squares on the sleeves yesterday!
