Trip to Prism; Prism's New Yarns

Last Sunday was the long awaited trip to the Prism Factory, hosted by Fiber Art in Tampa.  I have already raved about the trip on Ravelry, and I don't want to repeat myself here.  (For those of you who are on Ravelry, please check out our new Prism Lovers Group.  For those of you who aren't:  sign up!)

It was wonderful.   You can see all of the finished designs, peek into Laura Bryant's studio, and rummage through bin after bin after bin of Prism yarns in every imaginable colorway.

My current color obsession is the Embers colorway, and I snagged these:

From top to bottom:  Sunshine, Bolero, Slique, and Biwa in Embers

And these sandwashed solids in Bon Bon that coordinate:

From top to bottom:  #701, #704 (deep plum), and #201

I found the colors for my Dazzling Knits Dream Coat:

The beautiful blue on the far left is a "Special" color, meaning that is one of a kind.

As if all that was not enough, I also snagged some of the two new yarns that have just been introduced:

Manhattan in Blue Lagoon, Alpine, and Autumn

Tencel Tape in Sandwashed Solids

I started swatching the Tencel Tape.  All I can say is:  mmmm!

(The color is more accurate in the picture of the skeins.  It is a bit overexposed here.)

And then, of course, a selection of extra-special yarns:

1/4 inch Rayon Ribbon in Terracotta

Pouf in Terracotta

Dazzle in Blue Lagoon

These three are going to be worked into a couple of splendiferous pillows someday, which I think will coordinate nicely with my Prism Bubbly Blossom Blankie, which I finally finished!

It has actually been cold enough to use it this week.  It came out smaller than I intended (and I have lots of leftover yarn for pillows).  I had meant to make it more like a twin size blanket, but it is really a throw.  Still, last night I slept with it over my shoulders and cuddled it like a baby blanket.  There is no age limit on owning a blankie!
