Resistance was futile

Hanks got in a big shipment of Mind's Eye yarn, a delicious sock weight merino/tencel blend.  Although they don't sell it online, they posted an obscenely enticing photo of it on Ravelry.  I tried to resist.  I really did.  But last Sunday I drove up to Gainesville and came home with this:

Which I am going to use to make another Patricia Werner Dazzling Knits confection, the Conceptual Design Jacket:

The pattern is for a worsted weight, but since all of the instructions are based on the sizes of the blocks, it is easy enough to adapt them by changing the number of stitches used per block.

Dazzling Knits (probably my favorite knitting book ever) is out of print!  However, it looks like it is still possible to order autographed copies from the author at www.dazzlingknits.com.

No, I haven't finished The Coat yet, so it is certainly a bit early to be planning another major project like that (and with sock yarn, no less).  I just saw those colors and knew they had to go together ...

Although Hanks doesn't sell Mind's Eye yarns online, the dyer does have an etsy shop if you can't make it to Hanks in Gainesville (or to the Mind's Eye Yarns shop in Cambridge, Mass).
