Woolly Thoughts: Amazing Pillow and Throw Patterns

Two days ago I discovered the Woolly Thoughts website, and I feel like I have discovered a whole new world.

You will have to go and see it for yourself, but just to give you a taste of the wonders awaiting you there, this is a throw and it is knit, all in garter stitch:

Lately I have been hankering to make some pillows and have been putting together some ultra luxurious colors and textures with that in mind.  I have been struggling, however, with the design.  I wanted a pattern, probably modular, but I wanted it to go beyond basic squares.

These half-baked visions were sort of swirling around in the back of my mind, but I couldn't quite get a handle on them.  Then, the other day, I was wandering around ravelry and stumbled on a collection of designs that was exactly what I had been dreaming about.  I ordered two books of pillow patterns (24 patterns in all) immediately.  Here is just a small sample:

If you are on Ravelry, look up all of the Woolly Thoughts patterns (sorry, that link only works if you are a Ravelry member).  You can see tons of projects that ravelers have knit from these patterns using all sorts of wonderful color combinations.

I also came across this blog entry with pictures of some wonderful versions of several of the Woolly Thoughts Cushions.

Of course I want to drop everything and start knitting these right this minute (or the day before yesterday, rather).  But I. must. stay. focused on Autumn in Taos (the body is nearly complete!)  I know that these Woolly Thoughts patterns are going to take me off on a big adventure, and I must get my affairs in order before I go off on a wild journey...
