Knitters' Eye Candy from Annie Modesitt
I've been a book junkie as long as I can remember, so becoming a yarn addict meant becoming a knitting book collector, of course.
On my last trip to the bookstore I discovered Annie Modesitt's latest book, Romantic Hand Knits:

I'd seen it on Amazon, but the picture on the cover is so totally not me that I figured that it was one book I could probably live without. Hah! There probably isn't any knitting book that I can live without once I peek inside. If you have a soft spot anywhere for the fanciful, there is probably something in this book that will strike your fancy.
These lace mitts are knit out of a lace weight (double stranded) cashmere/silk blend and could be the perfect project for one of the irresistable yarns that I bought without having a clue what I would do with them:

I love the colors in the Cleopatra dress, knit from Tilli Tomas Pure & Simple:

I certainly couldn't wear that dress, but I could do a skirt version ...
The Eve skirt knit from silk ribbon is just stunning, and easy!

(No, I don't think that I will ever knit it, but I do love to look at it.)
And then there are these opera gloves:

These struck my fancy because I have been dreaming of a pair of soft luxurious gloves knit from the Twisted Sisters Avarice alpaca in Blue Curacao that I have been hoarding:

Now that I will have to travel north in the winter for business, I will actually be able to wear toasty warm alpaca ...
